Sender Dr. H. A. K. Edelmann |
Offshore Technology Conference 1976, May 3-6, Houston/Texas
The Offshore Technology Conference still attracts an ever increasing number of visitors (about 61000 this year) what reflects the economic potential of the offshore industry in the United States and abroad. This year's exhibition was highlighted by large offshore structures and equipment for exploration and exploitation beyond the arctic circle. 1500 companies, representing 16 countries, showed their products on mor than 8 acres of exhibit space. The German Federal Ministry of Economics sponsored again this year a large display booth. PRAKLA-SEISMOS GMBH was among the German exhibitors displaying a brief summary of its activity in the field of geophysical exploration and systems engineering emphazising new developments in the field of offshore navigation. Technical sessions were conducted in three and a half days. Thirteen sessions were dedicated to exploration drilling and production, others were closely related with broad coverage of geology, pipelining, platform equipment design, corrosion and pollution. Thanks to the activity of the SEG, one of the twelve sponsor societies of the OTC, 33 interesting papers in the field of geophysical exploration and navigation could be held. Among these were 11 papers on navigation systems, techniques and instrumentation. 22 papers dealt with marine geology, seismic exploration, geophysical data analysis and engineering geophysics. Two papers were given by members of PRAKLA-SEISMOS GMBH: F. K. Sender: H. A. K. Edelmann: |
